Series ANL 1 - Newport letting records

The papers have been divided into decadal sub-series, 1801-1810 to 1901-1910 (ANL 1/1-11), plus post-1911 (ANL 1/12). Most of the leases were found loose, and have been assigned to the appropriate decade, and gathered together in files by street or parish. Surviving original bundles, which usually relate to individual properties, have been filed by the date of the earliest item. In a number of instances it has been possible to gather together a number of papers relating to a single property; these bundles have also filed under the date of the earliest item. A file may therefore contain material later than its nominal decade.
