History
The New Welsh Review, the literary periodical of the English Language Section of the Academi, was established in 1988, following the demise of the Anglo-Welsh Review. It was the result of a joint initiative by the English Language Section of the Academi and the Association for Welsh Writing in English. The first editor, between 1988 and 1991, was Belinda Humfrey. She was succeeded by Michael Parnell, who died within months of becoming editor in 1991. Robin Reeves became editor in 1992.
