Ganed Charlotte Price White (g. Bell) (1873-1932) yn Briggart, ger Dumfries. Yn y 1890au, 'roedd ymysg y merched cyntaf i'w hyfforddi fel athrawon gwyddoniaeth yng Ngholeg Prifysgol Cymru, Bangor. Ym 1902, priododd y pel-droediwr Cymreig rhyngwladol Price Foulkes White ac ymgartrefu ym Mangor weddill ei hoes. 'Roedd yn Ysgrifenyddes ac arweinydd cangen Bangor o Gymdeithas yr Undeb Genedlaethol dros Hawliau Pleidleisio i Ferched; cerddodd fel rhan o 'Bererindod Fawr' 1913, pan orymdeithiodd merched i Lundain yn fintai heddychlon i bwysleisio'r angen am hawliau pleidleisio i ferched. Pan gychwynnodd Sefydliad y Merched ym Mhrydain, ymaelododd Charlotte Price White yng nghangen Llanfairpwll. Ym 1926, fe'i phenodwyd y ferch gyntaf ar Gyngor Sir Caernarfon. (Gweler hefyd y nodyn ar Mary Silyn Roberts ym mhrif weithlen yr archif) = Charlotte Price White (née Bell) (1873-1932) was born in Briggart, near Dumfries. In the 1890s, she was amongst the first women to be trained as science teachers at University College of Wales, Bangor. In 1902, she married international Welsh footballer Price Foulkes White, thereafter settling in Bangor for the remainder of her life. She served as Secretary and leader of the Bangor branch of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (NUWSS), walking to London as part of the 'Great Pilgrimage' of 1913, a peaceful women's march to highlight the cause of women's suffrage. When the Women's Institute (WI) was established in Britain, she became a member of its Llanfairpwll branch. In 1926, she became the first female member of Caernarfonshire County Council. She was a prominent member of the North Wales branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, participating in the 'Peace Pilgrimage' march of 1926. O 1901 ymlaen, dyma oedd cylchgrawn swyddogol Undeb Dirwestol Merched Gogledd Cymru. Cyhoeddwyd rhagflaenydd byrhoedlog i'r Gymraes rhwng 1850 a 1851, sef cylchgrawn o'r un enw dan olygyddiaeth y gweinidog Anghydffurfiol a'r newyddiadurwr Evan Jones ('Ieuan Gwynedd') (1820-1852). = Y Gymraes (The Welshwoman), a magazine for Welsh women, was published between 1896 and 1934, initially under the editorship of Alice Gray Jones ('Ceridwen Peris') and subsequently that of Mary Jane Griffith ('Mair Ogwen'). From 1901, it became the official magazine of the North Wales Women's Temperance Union. A short-lived forerunner, also called Y Gymraes, was published from 1850 to 1851 under the editorship of the Nonconformist minister and journalist Evan Jones (bardic name 'Ieuan Gwynedd') (1820-1852).
