Ships and the sea

Material contained in an envelope on which David Jones has written 'Ships: & the sea'. This material principally consists of photographs of sailing vessels (including several models), most of which have been cut out of newspapers and illustrated periodicals. There are also a few sketches by David Jones of details of rigging, etc.

Shipping, churches

The file includes pamphlets relating to shipping and churches, annual reports, report of the committee of inquiry into Welsh broadcasting, 1956, and a guide to Caesarea.

There are two letters from Margaret, Saunders Lewis' wife (ff. 2-3), and a letter from Thomas Charles Edwards, 1937 (f. 1).

The file includes Faber and Faber's publicity slips for In Parenthesis, 1937; the printed text of David Jones' reply after receiving the Hawthornden award for In Parenthesis in 1938, with related press cutting; a list of American reviews and notices by the Chilmark press [1961], and a copy of a review broadcast on Radio Eireann, 1964.
