- [1905, Dec. 7], 'Thursday afternoon'.
Written at National Liberal Club, Whitehall Place, S.W. Has received a letter from Captain Sinclair MP, aide-de-camp to Campbell-Bannerman, arranging an appointment for Friday. The list of offices for individuals is not yet quite ready. 'It is satisfactory that I am one of the first to hear for this letter was written last night. Winston & McKenna not yet heard which shows that they have not yet been reached even as names. It also means Cabinet I think for that is the first thing they settle'. He was also asked for an address at which he could be contacted promptly. 'Winston is very upset at the way the press are treating him'. Will contact William George the next day if there is definite news.
