A commonplace book compiled by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, which was later in the possession of Griffith Roberts, surgeon, Dolgelley. It contains poems by Taliesin and others, pedigrees, copies of charters, extracts from historical records and annals, a list of the bishops of Bangor (compiled between 1598 and 1616), lists of owners of Welsh manuscripts and books, recipes, archaeological notes, and miscellaneous memoranda.

It contains notes on astrology, witchcraft, legerdemain, geography, natural history, Biblical history, medicinal and household recipes, arithmetical and other tables, algebraical problems, poems, and a copy of a Welsh letter written in 1722-3, by a man born and bred in America to his kindred in the Bala district.
