A collection of some Welsh ballads and songs current among the old ballad-singers of Aberdâr, made by John Davies ('Pen Dâr', 1864-1940) about 1936 with a view to a radio programme. Words and sol-fa notation for nine ballads or songs, words only of several others. A letter and proposed script (ff. 1-5) contain some information about the singers.
