A copy, made about 1788 by Cadwalader Pugh, of the poetical works of Rhys Jones o'r Blaenau. Though it does not appear to have been made from the author's holograph collection (Mostyn MS. 163), it contains most of the items included therein.The latter portion of the book was used between 1836 and 1849 as a commonplace book and contains material taken from newspapers, including The Christian Advocate, The Weekly Dispatch, The Shropshire Conservative, The Sunday Times, and particularly The Carnarvon and Denbigh Herald. The longer poems include 'Ffarwel Caerludd' by R. D., 'Cerdd y Myglys' (anonymous), 'Hiraeth am Feirion' by Owen Thomas ('Twrog'), 'Carol Plygain' by O. Williams, 'Pennillion Serch' by John Jones ('Talhaiarn'), 'Can y Crys' by Edward Roberts ('Iorwerth Glan Aled'), and 'Meirion i mi' by William Roberts ('Gwilym Aran').

Miscellanea, including incomplete adjudications by Owen Jones on essays on the antiquities of the vale of Conway ('Henafiaethau Dyffryn Conway'), the foundation of Maenan Abbey ('Sefydliad Mynachlog Maenan'), etc.; the Elementary Certificate of the Tonic Sol-fa College awarded to William Rowland Williams, 1889 (the signatures include that of David Jenkins, examiner); a typescript copy of a poem in Welsh on the secession of Edward Stephen ('Tanymarian') to the Tory Party in 1874, with an accompanying note by R. D. Roberts, Bethesda, Caernarvonshire, to the effect that the verses were printed on the back of a postcard addressed to W. J. Parry, Bethesda, in 1877; mounted cuttings from The North Wales Chronicle, 19 October, 1934, of a report by R. D. Roberts on 'Two Gold Half Nobles of Richard II ... found in Caernarvonshire' [the one at Llanfairfechan and the other at Gerlan, Bethesda], together with manuscript notes by the author; and a typescript copy of verses by A. S. Hamilton, Union Bay, British Columbia, entitled 'Little Dyvie' [i.e. David Lloyd George, O.M., M.P.], printed in a Canadian newspaper during the Great War (1914-1918).

A volume belonging to the Rev. Ellis Thomas Davies, Independent minister, Abergele, containing poems and greetings in English and Welsh, autographs and sketches, 1849-1885, mainly by other Independent ministers, including Hugh Hughes (Huw Tegai), [1849x1864] (f. 3), Rowland Williams (Hwfa Môn), [1851], 1858 (ff. 3, 18 verso), William Williams (Caledfryn), 1852 (f. 5), William Rees (Gwilym Hiraethog), [1850s] (ff. 8, 55), Thomas Roberts (Scorpion), 1853 (f. 9), Michael D. Jones, [1857x1879] (f. 17), Henry Rees, 1863 (f. 50), Samuel Roberts (S.R.), 1867 (f. 54 verso), R. T. Among the works quoted are a Latin poem by George Herbert (f. 1 verso) and a Bengali version of John 3.16, 1885 (f. 75 verso). There are englynion in English by David Griffith (Clwydfardd) referring to a visit to the Great Exhibition, 1851 (f. 77). Also included are sketches of a dog, 1878 (f. 31), and of Abergele, 1866 (f. 67).

'Llyfr Miss Catherine Jones Post Office Clynnog 1861', being a notebook containing a pedigree showing the descendants of Gruffydd Humphrey, Llangybi, Caernarvonshire, one of them being Evan Owen, who was a Calvinistic Methodist preacher at Talysarn in 1861, together with miscellaneous poems by Ebenezer Thomas (Eben Fardd).

A manuscript written by the Reverend David James ('Dewi o Ddyfed'), Llandysul, containing 'englynion At y Parch Dewi o Ddyfed, Rhagfyr 8, 1837' by William Hughes; 'Englynion o Ddiolchgarwch i'r Parch Dewi ap Iago o Langwm, am ei wobr o 'Gorph y Gaingc', 1837', by 'Owain, Lle'rpwll'; 'Lines written by Mr. Stone the Parodist on his birthday in 1835', with a Welsh translation by Peter Jones ('Pedr Fardd'); 'englynion' on the Bible, the Book of Common Prayer and the Hymn Book by Peter Jones ('Pedr Fardd'); and an 'englyn I'r Awyren (Balloon)' by Evan Evans ('Ieuan Glan Geirionydd').

Miscellaneous papers, [c. 1804]-1918, including holograph poetry in Welsh by Robert Davies (Bardd Nantglyn), Griffith Edwards (Gutyn Padarn) and Thomas Edwards (Twm o'r Nant) (ff. 1-4); a short autobiographical account, 1837, and verse in Latin, Greek, Hebrew and English in the hand of Richard Robert Jones (Dic Aberdaron), including an Hebrew translation by him of a poem by Edward Roberts (Iorwerth Glan Aled) (ff. 6-8); autographs of Thomas Charles, Bala, and Thomas Edwards (Twm o'r Nant), 1804, and William Owen-Pughe (f. 14); and a musical Christmas greeting, 1918, to Philip Thomas from Daniel Protheroe, Chicago (f. 15).

Poetical compositions by Daniel Jones, together with miscellaneous papers including transcripts, correspondence, newspaper cuttings and a note relating to the births of his children. The transcribed material is largely by David Jones of Llan-non, son of Daniel Jones.

A transcript, with annotations, by John Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro') of the Flores Poeticae of John Davies under the title 'Flores Poeticae: or the Poetical works of the late Rev. John Davies, of Glandwr and Moriah in the Congregational Union of the Welsh part of Pembrokeshire: Being copied from his own collection, in manuscript, by his disciple and admirer, John Lloyd James ('Clwydwenfro'), March, Cambridgeshire, 1897, Volume I'. The transcriber has added compositions of his own on matters connected with Ietwen, John Davies, and his children, and transcripts of other writings by John Davies. At the end of the manuscript is a Cardiff printed broadside 'Mynwent Hebron' by John Lloyd James, 1862.

Poetry by Owen, together with biographical notes, rhymes, riddles and miscellanea. Most of the work in this volume is published in Cell Meudwy ..., 1877.

Three music books bought by Isaac Williams 'of Mr. Parry, Relieving Officer, Dolgellau, Sept. 1903' and bound together into a single volume. They contain hymn-tunes, anthems and psalm-tunes, mainly by John Williams, Dolgellau, with a few tunes by R[ichard] Mills ['Rhydderch Hael'], one by I. R. Ellis, Dolgellau, 1841, and traditional and anonymous tunes; a poem entitled 'Amgylchiadau Marwolaeth Crist', an 'englyn' ('Y Farchnad Ysprydol'), 'englynion' by 'Shion Rhydderch', three hymns ('Mae'r gwaed a redodd ar y Groes', 7 stanzas, and 'Wrth edrych ar y sail', 4 stanzas, 'Ni'm diystyrir gan fy Nuw', 1 stanza), and a recipe for a cough.

The original manuscript of the chair poem ('Tu hwnt i'r Llen') submitted by Ben Davies, Panteg, to the National Eisteddfod held at Llandudno, 1896.
