Maenan lordship, co. Caern, and properties in p's Eglwys-bach and Llangernyw, co. Denb., are combined from 1683 (L1301) with property in p's Llansanffraid Glan Conwy and Betws Abergele, co. Denb., and p. Penmachno, co. Caern. Property purchased from William Robinson, esq., in p's Llansanffraid Glan Conwy and Llandrillo-yn-Rhos (t. Eirias) is added in 1691 (R8/9). A property in Wrexham is also added from 1684 (L1301) to 1691 (R8/9). R3/5 (1629), R6/7 (1671), R4/7 (1671) and R4/9 (1680) contain property in Commote of Isaf. The Gwydir estate proper did not become part of the Wynnstay estate, but passed to the Dukes of Ancaster through the marriage of Robert, Lord Willoughby of Eresby, duke of Ancaster, and Mary, sole daughter and heiress of Sir Richard Wynn, 4th bart (dec. 1674). However, a rental for 1680 of the Gwydir estate and two rentals for 1671 of Gwydir property in co. Mer. are found amongst the general rentals of the Wynnstay estate. The rentals comprise property in p's [Aber] (t. Y Wig), Betws-y-coed and Llandudno, co. Caern; p's Llanrwst, Llanddoged, Gwytherin, Llanfair Talhaearn, Llaneilian-yn-Rhos, Llansanffraid Glan Conwy, Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch and Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, co. Denb.; p's Llangar, Llandrillo-yn-Edeirnion, Gwyddelwern, Llanfor and Llandderfel, co. Mer.; and p's Isleworth, Heston, co. Mddx. L1311 (1671) contains only property in p's Llandderfel and Llandrillo-yn-Edeirnion, co. Mer. R4/6 (1671) contains only property in p's Llandderfel, Gwyddelwern, Llangar and Llanfor, co. Mer. The estate originally comprised property p's Llanynys (t's Maesmaencymro, Gyffeilliog), Llanfwrog (t. Bodangharad), Ruthin, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd, Bodfari (t. Aberchwiler), Llandyrnog, Llanhychan, Llangwm in commote of Dinmael, the lordship of Llwynydd and Rhisgog, all in co. Denb. In 1697, property in p's Derwen, Llanelidan and Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, co. Denb., and p. Llandrillo-yn-Edeirnion (t's Garthiaen, Branas Isaf), co. Mer., is added. In 1701, property in p's Penmorfa, Beddgelert, Dolwyddelan, Capel Curig, Penmachno, Llanberis, Dwygyfylchi and Llanfairfechan, co. Caern., is also added. Sir William Williams bought the Glantant estate in 1679, and it appears in the Glascoed collection in 1680. The Plas-y-ward estate is combined with the Glascoed collection, 1704-1715 (R12-R13). From 1712 (R13) property in p. Llanynys (t's Trefechan, Ysgeibion) and [p. Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch] (t. Pentrellech) is added. RA8 (1653) contains property in p. Oswestry (t's Trefonnen, Treflach), Shropshire. R4/8 contains an inventory of the goods and chattels of Edward Thelwall of Plasyward, co. Denb., esq., appraised in Jan. 1677. Two mediaeval deeds concerning lands in Wick, Carswell and Wroxhale [Wraxhall] in Somerset. The first [late 12 x early 13 cent] is a grant by the Beket family pertaining to land at Wick, containing specific boundary clauses and details of the payment made partly in money and partly in high-status goods. The second, a quitclaim dated 1307, may be part of a settlement involving families located ‘atte Wike’ and Clopton, relating to lands at Carswell and Wroxhale [Wraxhall].

Six mediaeval deeds concerning lands mainly situated in Wrockwardine, Shropshire, [1289x1324]-1336. The grantors include Fulk Lestrange, lord of Wrockwardine and William, Abbot of Shrewsbury. Other parties and witnesses named are Adam le Despenser and members of the Lochard family of Wrockwardine. Two of the deeds refer to a piece of field called Vedelye, which appears to be the subject of a family settlement between Walter, rector of Culmington, his sister, Godithe and Adam Lochard, her son, 1327 and 1336.

Fourteen charters, 1340-1549, by several of the lords of Powys, namely John de Charleton, Edward de Charleton, Henry Gray, Edward Sutton and Edward Gray, issued at [Welsh]pool (Powys) Castle or Mathrafal Manor. They include five pardons by Edward de Charleton to individuals who had taken part in the rebellion of Owain Glyndwr and whose lands were restored to them, 1408-1420. The lands to which they refer lay mainly in the lordships of Mechain Is Coed, Mechain Uwch Coed and Caereinion, Montgomeryshire. The recipient of the pardon of 1420 was Gruffith ap Jankyn ap Llewelyn ap Eignon ap Kelynnyn, an ancestor of the Vaughans of Llwydiarth and former squire to Charleton. Two deeds of 1418 and 1420/1 show that he benefited from further gifts of land and privileges. The gift of 1420/1 is the subject of a deed to settle a dispute between Edward Gray, lord of Powys and John ap Howell Vaughan in 1549. The charters of Henry Gray, 1446, and Edward Sutton, 1508/9, refer to lands in Caereinion and Deuddwr, granted to retainers for faithful service. Two other deeds, of Edward Gray, 1524 and 1540, concern previously forfeited lands in Trefedryd and Moel y Cornorion in Mochnant.

Property in p's Ruabon (t's Dinhinlle, Cristionydd), Marchwiail, Erbistock (Eyton Park), Holt and Is-y-coed, co. Denb. Collectors: Mr Stowing (1693-1694), Thomas Wattall (1694), John Jones (1695-1706), Robert Simon (1715-1723), Thomas Jones (1732-1770) and Randle Jones (1772). From R5/8 (1700) onwards p. Ruabon (t. Morton Wallicorum) is added. From R5/11 (1702) onwards p. Wrexham is added. It had been incorporated previously in R9/6a-e (1697-1701) and R9/7 (1700). From R5/1 (1709) onwards p. Is-y-Coed is omitted. It is incorporated from R10/9 (1712) onwards in the Stanwardine Collection. From R11/6 (1718) onwards p. Holt is omitted. Sir Watkin Williams Wynn (d. 1749) acquired the Glan-llyn estate with the Llwydiarth estate. The estate comprised property in p's Llanuwchllyn (t's Penaran, Cynllwyd, Pennant-lliw, Tre Castell), Llanycil (Bala Town, t. Streflyn), Llangywer, Llanfor, Llandderfel and Corwen, all co. Mer. From R26/6 (1741?), property in [p. Llanuwchllyn] (Caergai) is added, and between 1744 and 1748 (R27/9-R29/6) and in 1750 (R30/5) the chief rents of the manor of Pennant-lliw are also included. Collectors: David Morgan, 1626, John Evans, 1701-1706 and 1714-1728, Randle Jones, 1736-1751, and Thomas Jones 1752-1772. After 1772, this collection continues in Collection I.

The collection comprises property in p's Much Wenlock and Harley, Shropshire. Also details relating to Wenlock and Westwood tithes, and lists of limeburners. Collectors: Richard Collins, 1810-1838, Humphrey Hinton and Edward Jeffreys, 1839-1841, Humphrey Hinton, 1842-1847, and Edward Hinton 1848-1857.

The collection comprises property in p's Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, Llanelidan, Derwen, Llanfwrog, Ruthin, Llanynys, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd, Gyffylliog, Llandyrnog, Denbigh, Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch, Llangwm, and Llanhychan, co. Denb. RA28 includes a survey, late 1850s-early 1860s of the above collection (giving field names, details of acreages, and annual rent due), together with a plan of part of Plas-y-ward farm sold to the Denbigh, Ruthin & Corwen Railway Co., 1860. Collectors: John Williams, 1809-1829, William Turnor, 1830-1832, Thomas Turnor, 1833, Thomas and Walter Turnor, 1834-1837, Walter Turnor, 1838-1839, Thomas Turnor, 1840-1858, Nathan Burlinson, 1859-1861, Thomas Adey Cox, 1862, William Jones, 1863-1871, and Owen Hughes 1871-1879. From R116/3f (1860) onwards, only property in p's Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch, Denbigh, Llangwm and Ruthin remain. Ruthin estate fee farm rents as specified below are also contained in the series of Tithe, Chief and Fee Farm Rentals. Property in p. Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd and in Ruthin will also be found in R116/3d and R117/2c (being rentals of settled estates in cos Denb. and Mont.), then in the collection entitled Farm and Cottage Rents. Property in Llanfwrog, Llanynys, Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd and Llanhychan will not be found in the rentals described below, but in R116/3d and R117/2c, then in the collection entitled Farm and Cottage Rents. In 1879 (R135/1e) only property in p's Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch, Denbigh, Llangwm and Ruthin remains; in 1880 (R136/1e) only property in p's Denbigh, Llangwm and Ruthin remain; and from 1881 (R137/1e) onwards only property in p's Denbigh and Llangwm remains. The estate of John Mostyn, esq., in cos Mer., and Denb., whereof Mr Francis Chambre is appointed receiver in pursuance of an order of the Court of Chancery, made 6 Feb. 1777, in a cause where Sir Rowland Hill, bart, and Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, bart (on behalf of themselves and the rest of the creditors of the said John Mostyn who should come in and contribute to that suit) are plaintiffs, and John Mostyn and Robert Wynne, esq's, are defendants. R52/4a-e (1788) contains only property in p. Gwyddelwern, co. Mer., in p's Derwen, Gyffylliog, Henllan, Ruthin, Denbigh and Llanrhaeadr [-yng-Nghinmeirch], co. Denb., and p. Hawarden, co. Flint. From R58/2 onwards, the estate of the late John Mostyn, in mortgage to Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, consists of property in p's Gyffylliog, Denbigh and Llanrhaeadr [-yng-Nghinmeirch] only. Llangedwyn), (3vii) Llwydiarth estate, (Llangedwyn collection), (3viii) Llwydiarth estate (Mochnant collection), (3ix) Glascoed, Llanforda, Plas-y-ward B (co. Mont.).

From 1786 onwards, Collection II is divided as follows: A. Manor of Valle Crucis; Stanwardine collection; Wynnstay Home Rents; the 1748 purchased estate; The 1768 purchased estate; and B. Glascoed, Llanforda, Plas-y-ward A (co. Denb.).
