Glam., widow (by virtue of an authority from Thomas Mathew, esq., her son and heir), to (2) Lewis Charles of Llandaf, yeoman, of two contiguous cottages in the village of Llandaf, co. Glam., late in the tenure of Lewis David, tucker, and David Lewis, weaver. Consideration: £9. Annual rent: 5s., and two hens or 1s. in lieu. Duty: one day's work at harvest or 6d. in lieu, suit of mill to Llandaf Mill, suit of court to Plas Turton, and heriot.

Glam., esq., to (2) Thomas [Windsor, first] viscount Windsor, of liberty to cut canals through a parcel of rough ground called The Park, p. Cardiff St John the Baptist, co. Glam., to divert water from the river Taff to the millpond belonging to Cardiff Mill. Annual rent: £5. Covenant for giving up the agreement with three months notice at any time after the first five years if Cardiff Mill stops grinding and 2 has no use for the water; also that if 2 erects a weir across the river Taff to bring water into the millpond, he shall also become tenant of 1's fishery of the river Taff for the remainder of the term of 999 years at an annual rent of £10.

Glam., and appointment by 1 of Edward Bowen of Colwinston, co. Glam., gent., to be his attorney to deliver seisin. Consideration: surrender of a former lease and £60. Mon., malster, 2, and Elizabeth his wife) of a m. or dwelling house with garden and orchard called Green House, p. Llandaf, co. Glam. Consideration: surrender of a former lease and £42. Annual rent: 5s. Recites a lease for life dated 6 April 1764 between 1 and Martha Jones of Llandaf, spinster, neice of Charles Jones of Llandaf, gent., of the same property, then held by the said Charles Jones for his life by virtue of an annuity. Lease for three lives by (1) Thomas Mathews of Llandaf, co. Glam., esq., to (2) William Thomas of Pendeulwyn, co. Glam., yeoman, of a m. and land (16a.) called Fynnon Wen, p. Peterston-super-Ely, co. Glam. Consideration: surrender of a former lease wherein there are two lives in being, and £30. Annual rent: £4 and a couple of capons or 1s. in lieu. Duty: the work of one man for one day in harvest or 1s. in lieu, suit of court to Peterston-super-Ely, and heriot. Endorsed: sold to Anthony Williams c. 1806-1808.

Lease for 14 years of Traston Farm, p. Christchurch,

Lease for 14 years by (1) Mark Wood of Gatton Park, co. Surrey, esq., to (2) John Jones of p. Pen-hw, co. Mon., farmer, of a m. and lands (170a.) called Traston Farm, p. Christchurch, co. Mon. Annual rent: £357, and £10 for every acre of meadow or pasture ploughed up. Covenants include that 2 will pay £2 2s. for every load of hay taken off the premises, that 2 will within three years lay down with good grass seeds all the land which the late tenant broke up contrary to his agreement, that 2 will pay £2 2s. extra rent yearly for every extra acre that the farm should be found to exceed 170a., that 1 will before 22 June next put the dwelling house into tenantable repair, raise the roof, make good and sufficient lodging rooms over the kitchen, rebuild the barn, make a standing place for cattle, build a wain-house large enough to hold one wagon and two carts, build a pig sty, and put the whole of the outbuildings, gates, stiles and fences in good repair, that 1 will have the lands measured and mapped by a competent land surveyor, that 1 will permit 2 to deduct £2 2s. every half year for every acre that the farm should be found to be less than 170a., and that 1 will in the first year expend £105 in building a lime kiln on some convenient part of the farm.
