Pre-nuptial settlement of (1) Herbert Hurst of Gabalfa, p. Llandaf, co. Glam., esq., only child and heir of Lucy Hurst formerly Lucy Allen, spinster, one of the two daughters and co-heirs of Lucy Allen, dec., aunt and heir of Thomas Herbert, who died an infant, the only child and heir of Elizabeth Powell, widow, dec., by Thomas Herbert, esq., dec., her first husband, and (2) Mary Anne Wrixon of Cardiff, co. Glam., spinster, an infant of the age of twenty years, the only daughter of Robert Wrixon formerly of Corntown but late of Cardiff, esq., dec., being a release by 1 to (4) Henry Lee of Dover Place, co. Surrey, and John Richards of Corner House, Cardiff, esq's, of an undivided moiety of the manors of Newton Nottage and South Corneli, the impropriate rectories of Swansea and Oystermouth, the right of presentation (one turn in three) to the church of Newton Nottage, the forest called Trewyddfa Common in p. Llangyfelach, and all the m's, lands etc., the late estate of Thomas Herbert the father, dec., in p's Newton Nottage, South Corneli, Swansea, Oystermouth, St Johns, Llangyfelach and Llansamlet, all in co. Glam., an undivided moiety of the manors of Dinas Powys, Llandough, Cogan, Highlight, Kibbor and Cardiff otherwise White Friars, and Tregarreg, the advowsons of the churches of Lecwydd, Llandough, Cogan and Roath, and all the m's, lands etc, the late estate of the said Thomas Herbert the father in p's Dinas Powys, St Andrews, Merthyr Dyfan, Llandough, Cogan, Roath, Llanedern, Cardiff, Llandaf, Whitchurch, St Brides-super-Ely, Peterston-super-Ely and Ystradyfodwg, all co. Glam., and an undivided fourth part of the manor of Rumney, and all m's, lands etc., the late estate of Philip Herbert, dec. (the father of Elizabeth Herbert, who was the mother of the said Thomas Herbert the father), in p's Rumney, Peterstone, Marshfield and St Mellons, all in co. Mon., to the use of 1 for life, and afterwards to pay 2 an annuity of £400 for life and to the use of (5) Peter Rich of Brownlow Street, co. Mddx, esq., and John Hunt of Pitcombe, co. Somerset, DD, for a term of 500 years in trust to raise £2,000 for the younger children of the marriage. The other party is (3) Edward Morgan of Cardiff, esq., uncle and guardian of 2. Recites deeds between 1, Thomas Thomas of Gabalfa, gent., and John Smith of Red Lion Square, co. Mddx, gent., settling the above properties, 1786, and that the entire manors etc. in co's Mon. and Glam., and a moiety of the m's, lands etc. in co. Mon. are subject to a mortgage for £18,000 to the representatives of Doctor Talbot, dec. and another mortgage for £6,300 to William Hurst, esq., and the representatives of Calvert Richard Jones, esq., dec., of which the above properties are liable for half of each sum.
