A letter from Ben Bowen, from Kimberley, 17 August 1901, to Owen M. Edwards concerning refugee camps in South Africa; and a short article by Ben Bowen entitled 'Celt Bach yn yr Affrig'.

Material relating to campaigning work of the Wales Anti-Apartheid Movement (WAAM), covering a wide range of areas targeted at a national level including sports, consumer goods, cultural figures and events, UK trade with South Africa, the release of political prisoners and an end to military and nuclear collaboration. There is also material relating to regional and local campaigns and events in which WAAM took part.

The box covers a range of papers and reports from the Department of International Development and the International Development Committee including press notices, minutes of evidence, visit plans, briefing notes, articles, press cuttings, letters. They cover topics and countries such as South Africa, Iraq, China, Pakistan, future of sanctions, EU Meetings of Development issues, Japan, Portuguese Presidency

The bundle contains International Development Committee visit papers. One visit to Southern Africa, Saturday 12 February-Saturday 26th February 2000 and Visit Programme to South Africa and Mozambique.

Letter book, 1846-1850, of H[er] M[ajesty's] S[team] S[loop] 'Geyser' containing copies of letters, Nov. 1846-May 1850 (ff. 1 verso-131), and memoranda, June-Dec. 1847 (ff. 179-180), sent by her commander, F[rancis] T[homas] Brown, mainly to his superiors.
The 'Geyser' was employed in famine relief in Western Ireland, Jan.-Apr. 1847 (ff. 6-34), and at the port of Setubal and elsewhere in Portugal during the Patuleia Revolt, June-July 1847 (ff. 43-52). She was subsequently stationed in the Cape Colony (South Africa) and Mauritius, Nov. 1847-May 1850 (ff. 63-131), and was sent on diplomatic missions, meeting with local chiefs and rulers in Madagascar and the Comoros Islands (ff. 81-102). The letters range from brief memoranda to lengthy reports and letters of proceedings; they include references to routine ship business and disciplinary matters, intelligence reports and accounts of diplomacy and treaty negotiations. Two additional copy letters have been pasted into the volume (ff. 119a, 122a).

The folders contain various papers and reports from organizations like The World Bank and ActionAid on the Southern African Countries such as South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Zambia. Various International Development Committee papers including draft visit programmes, Department of International Development reports.
