Rent arrears: second series,

Accounts of rent arrears on the co. Mon. estate compiled by John Burgh and Henry Harding, successive receivers of the co. Mon. estate appointed by the Court of Chancery, and by Silas Blandford, steward. Burgh compiled BMC3/1, Harding .BMC3/2-6, and Blandford the remainder. Rent arrears: first series

Accounts of rent arrears submitted by Basil Broadwood, steward of the estate. BMC2/1 is the only survivor of a series of four accounts which probably included all, or most, of the co. Mon. estate.

Rent arrears: earl of Pembroke,

Account of rent arrears submitted to the trustees of [Thomas Herbert] earl of Pembroke, 1706, [who sold man's Usk, Caerleon and Trelech in 1722] together with arrears of rents, fines and other profits unpaid, 1683-1705, in the town and man. of Usk, man. Cilgwrrwg in p's Gwehelog and Llantrissent, man. Trelech in p's Trelech, Mitchel Troy, Tintern and Cwmcarfan, man. and bor. Caerleon, man's Malpas and Mendelgyf in p's Malpas and Mendelgyf, bor. Newport, man. Stow in p's St Woollos and Newport, lp Wentloog, man's Cogan Pembroke, [p's Peterstone and St Brides], Pen-carne, [p's Basaleg, Coedcernyw, Marshfield, Peterston Wentlloog and St Brides], Develesse [Dowles], [p. Marshfield], Maughan, [p. St Maughan] and Aber-carn, [p's Basaleg, Llanfihangel, Llantarnam and Mynyddislwyn], and including detais of heriots and alienations received in 1706.

Registers of leases,

The registers give the date of grant of lease, term of lease, name of lessee and of lives of lease, annual rent, amount of fines and heriots and descriptions of the premises. Many of the entries in one volume are duplicated in others.

Registers of counterpart leases,

Uniformly bound, outsize volumes, containing dates of grants of leases, terms of leases, names of lessees and of lives of lease, annual rent, amount of fines and heriots, descriptions of the premises, and details of subsequent licences granted to assign or to sub-let which were endorsed on the leases. Four copies of the register for 1792-1895 were made. One copy was made for the Badminton estate office, one for the Monmouth estate office at Troy House, one for the estate's London attorneys and one for the Commissioners of the Admiralty at Greenwich House. For 1895-1903 there are three copies: the Admiralty Commissioners' copy has either not survived or none was made for them in the first place. All the volumes are indexed by assignees and lesees, and all include details about the surrenders of leases and about the sales and purchasors of premises.

Registers of counterpart leases,

Uniformly bound, outsize volumes, containing dates of grants of leases, terms of leases, names of lessees and of lives of lease, annual rent, amount of fines and heriots, descriptions of the premises and details of subsequent licences granted to assign or to sub-let which were endorsed on the leases. All the volumes are indexed by assignees and lessees. Up to 1879 three copies of the register was made: one for the Badminton estate office, one for the co. Brec. estate office, and one for the Prudential Assurance co. Ltd. From 1879 the co. Brec. estate office's copy was dispensed with.
