Copy of Close Roll, 19 James I, part 32, recording an indenture of Bargain and Sale made between Edward Lord Wotton Baron of Warleigh and Simon Thelwall the younger son of Richard Thelwall of Llanbeder, co. Denbigh, gentleman, of a tenement and lands (specified) in Llansanfraid, co. Denbigh, together with free common of pasture etc. upon any of the waste ground of the said Lord Wotton, lately belonging to the dissolved monastery of Vale Crucis.

Request from the church-wardens to Viscount Campden to repair his portion of the high chancel of Wrexham parish church etc.

Copy of a request from the church-wardens of the parish of Wrexham, to Viscount Campden, to repair his portion of the high chancel of Wrexham parish church, together with an order, from Viscount Campden to his agent Edward Lewis, to carry out the repairs, April 1662; together with an account of all the lands and tenements [in Valle Crucis] that have been set formerly for and during the term of the natural life of the Lord Viscount Campden, 15 Nov. 1682; a perfect rent roll of the yearly rent due to the Rt Hon. Sir John Wynn, kt and bart, within the county of Denbigh and manor of Valle Crucis, to begin to receive at the Annunciation 1683; and The rule and custom of gathering the small tithes of the three parishes of Wrexham, Ruabon and Llangollen, and the division between the lord of the manor and the vicars of the several parishes, [c.1683]. Also a certificate of inspection of the above rule and custom, dated 25 June 1748.

"The rent roll for the mannor of Villa Crucis": (1) The rule and custom of gathering the small tithes in the parishes of Wrexham, Ruabon and Llangollen, together with some particulars of their account for the years 1683-1685 and for the year 1691; (2) A rent roll of Valle Crucis with particulars of heriots, reliefs etc. for the year 1691; (3) A particular of decayed rents which is utterly lost for the time past viz. from 1683 till Michaelmas 1691; (4) A particular of arrears for the year ended Michaelmas 1691 and former years.
