Deed made between (i) Gabriel Lloyd of Peniarth, co. Denbigh, gentleman; (ii) John Hughes of Bodorryn, same co., and Catherine his wife, and Mary Hughes, spinster, their daughter; and (iii) John ffoulks of Wen-Allt, same co., gentleman, and John Wynne of Coed Coch, same co., gentleman, being the settlement on the marriage of the said G. Lloyd and Mary Hughes about to be solemnized, whereby, for £200 part of the marriage portion of the said Mary, and other considerations, the said G. Lloyd grants to the said J.F. and J. Wynne, the messuage with its appurtenances, etc., called Peniarth in the township of Peniarth, parish of Bettus Abergeley, co. Denbigh aforesaid, and other premises called Pigin Llwynog, Y Ddol Ucha, yn Ackoed, Cae cock ucha, Cae cock isa, Cae Llydan, yr Acker felen, Cae'r Wern, Y Ackar farl, y Ddol issa, Cae bedw mawr, Cae bedw bach, Bryn bedw, y Wern gôch, Tri Bryn Pella, Gwernydd yr Ychen, Y Gwernydd ucha, Y Gwernydd issa, Bryn vychan back, and Bryn vychan mawr, Tu-newydd messuage there, Cae Lloi, Pen-y-bryn ar, Tyddyn ucha, land in Pont Llanfair, Nant yr Efel alias Tythyn nant yr Efel, Cae Mathw, Cae Plant-wydd, Tythyn Hen, Bryn Tyodd, etc. in trust for the uses of the marrying parties, subject to specified conditions, and contingencies, fully set forth. Signed by G. Lloyd, J. Hughes, and Catherine Hughes (mark). Seal on a wreath, a demi-lion rampant. Witnesses: John Lloyd, John Roberts. Endorsed with receipt by G. Lloyd to J. Hughes, who paid £200 consideration money to Anne ffoulkes, then of Talhaiarn and since dead, towards discharging the Mortgage incumbrance which she had upon the estate of the said G. Lloyd.
