Grant of two messuages and lands at Pant bedwast in the parish of Melyney lying within these limits, viz. as the hedge of George Owen leads from the close called Park y Skybor to Bulch melyn and thence to the brook called Nant y Rydgaled and along the brook to the river of Gavran and so along that river to Y pant glas and so to Park y Skybor, a close or park of meadow called Park yr hendy in the same parish, a piece of ground at Keven dyannell in the parish of Eglosserow called Dole Henllan together with two parks near the brook called Gavran called Portis Henllan, and the advowson of the church of Melyney, with a covenant to levy a fine thereof. Award of John Phellippes of Llanvernach ar dave, gent., arbitrator in the dispute on behalf of Thomas Phellippes of Kilvowir in the parish of Mainordivie, gent., Jenet verch Thomas his wife, Agnes verch Thomas and James ap Beynon of Mainordivie on the one part, and of Phellipe Jones of Llangoidmore, co. Cardigan, clerk, bachelor of the laws, arbitrator on behalf of George Owens of Henllis, esq., lord of Kemes, on the other part, touching the wardship of the said Jenet and Agnes verch Thomas, and also the said James ap Beynon and the suit against the latter, Agnes his wife and Richard ap Richard of Llochred, co. Cardigan, yeoman, in the Star Chamber for the wrongful taking away of the said Jenet being the ward of the said George Owen, plaintiff. The arbitrators award that all suits and actions shall cease, that George Owen shall grant the wardship of the said Agnes to Thomas Phellipps during her minority, and that Thomas Phellipps shall exonerate George Owen of waste and reparation in the lands of the said Jenet and Agnes during their minorities and held of George Owen by knight service, viz., a tenement and lands called Blaen yr annell, parish of Bridell, and a tenement and lands at Nantgwyn, and the said Thomas Phellipps shall deliver to George Owen £5 at a specified time at the chapel of Nantgwyn in recompense of the injury done to him in taking away the said Jenet Thomas then in his wardship and for costs and in respect of the wardship of the said Agnes. Attached are bonds from Thomas Phellipps to George Owen to observe the said award, dated 8 Oct., 1583 and 13 Nov. 1584. Seals.
