Agreement touching jurisdictions and liberties claimed to belong to the lordship or barony of Kemes within the lordship or manor of Maenclochogg concerning which claims and strifes there had been suits in divers courts in England and Wales and the Marches. The said Thomas Lloyd acknowledges that the manor of Maenclochogge is holden of the manor of Kemes and being owner of the moiety of the manor of Maenclochogge he covenants with George Owen that it shall be lawful for the latter's officers of the barony or lordship of Kemes at all times hereafter to hold pleas under 40s and to hear and determine in the court of the said barony any plaints, actions or suits against any of the tenants or inhabitants of the manor of Maenclochogg or the members thereof for any matter or cause whatsoever and that it shall be lawful for the said officers to make summons, attachments and take distresses and execute their authority and office touching any action, plaint, or suit against the tenants and inhabitants of the manor in George Owen's Court of the barony according to the common law of the realm and the custom of the barony, and to make and levy executions upon recoveries had in the said court of Kemes against the tenants and inhabitants of Maenclochogg without let, interruptions or denial of the said Thomas Lloid, so that the said George Owen or his officers do not warn or summon or impanel any of the inhabitants of the manor of Maenclochogg to appear in any jury within the barony of Kemes nor amerce any of them for not appearing in juries. It is agreed that the said George Owen or his officers shall not distrain for any defaults or amercements imposed on the said inhabitants before the date hereof, and also that the suit depending in the High Court of Star Chamber between George Owen, plaintiff, and the said Thomas Lloid, William Thomas Phillippe, Richard Ievan and others, defendants, concerning the premises now in question shall henceforth surcease.
