Acknowledging the receipt of a cheque for Signature by himself and Henry Crawshay, and instructing recipient to sell Consols for the purpose of paying Legacy Duties. An enquiry as to Spanish 3% [Bonds].

His acquiescence in the proposal to give recipient Power of Attorney (for the disposal of Consols); the unattractiveness of Spanish 3% (Bonds); the dead state of the (iron) trade.
