Brec., DD, Archdeacon of Carmarthen) of m's and lands known as Penybank, Cae yr Skybor Vach, Penybonto Lletheri Scyache and Penyrerw, all in p. Llanavon Vawr, co. Brec. The parties involved in the transaction include Sackville H. F. Gwynne, Sackville F. Gwynne, William Parry, David Lloyd Harries. Charles Gabell, James Alexander Frampton and others. Reference is made to deeds 1821-8, and attached is a schedule of deeds 1733-74.

Account of meeting at Presteign - only 8 present. Decided to increase Police Force in disturbed districts by 20. Chief Constable says Rebeccaites have no ulterior schemes beyond breaking the salmon laws. He himself had not acted in Rhayader case, but had addressed the crowd and been well received. Account of the ceremony of laying foundation stone of church. Building begun. Same parishes are to be moved from diocese of St. David's to Hereford, Clyro among them. He opposed the idea 3 years ago, but has changed his mind as 'I have rather less taste for Thirlwall who is a very unsatisfactory man, and with the present humbug of assuming that everybody who lives in a Welsh Diocese must speak Welsh it is perhaps as well to belong to an English Diocese'. Rent day, lower rents but no arrears. Sessions meeting about new bridge over Ithon at Llanyre. Mary to be Mrs Pollen's executrix. Shearing.

Account of trip to Abergavenny and afterwards a party at Bryntirion which children also attended - entertainment and supper. Meeting of Monmouthshire, Brecon and Radnor (? Joint Counties Lunatic Asylum Committee?). Monmouthshire carried motion for dissolution of union of 3 counties. It has now to go before Home Secretary. Brecon and Radnor visitors met to discuss Monmouthshire's offer for their shares. R.L.V. elected Chairman. They unanimous against dissolution. Had met Granville Somerset for first time for many years at the meeting.

Account of visit to Dderw to give G.S.V.'s decision about candidacy to Prickard. They wanted to settle candidature immediately in order to get rid of Evans-Williams and Otway.
