Puts forward his case for the appointment of an assistant curate for the parish of Clyro with its Chapel of Ease at Betws. The application has the approval of the Bishop of St. David's.
He encloses a copy of the letter which he has sent to the Rev. J. E. Lloyd the incumbent of the parish of Newbridge-on-Wye by the direction of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. They wish G.S.V. to convey to them as a Parsonage for the vicar the house in which he now lives, as they are unable to grant further assistance. A note added by R.L.V. stating that he had replied on G.S.V.'s behalf and with the concurrence of Mr Lloyd declining to transfer the Vicarage. Dated 29 July 1887.
