Vezelay

Commercially produced slide of arched cloisters.

Diapositives Veronese.

Vezelay : Christe en majeste /

A commercially produced slide of an ornate semi-circular carving of a sculpture, probably in plaster, of Jesus surrounded by his eleven disciples.

Diapositive Veronese.

Vezelay : La facade /

A commercially produced slide showing the facade and entrance to Vezelay Abbey in France. Presumably this slide was purchased by Kyffin Williams on one of his trips abroad

Diapositive Veronese.

[Victorian Engine House]

A distinctive C19th Engine House, now minus a roof silhouetted against the skyline. It appears to be joined to a stone chimney that extends a little above the level of the roof ridge.

[View across fields to distant mountains]

In the foreground a large field planted with crops, possibly oil seed rape. In the far distance a range of mountains is visible. Slide 4690/109 shows the same mountains but appears to have been taken from the far side of the field.

[View across grassland to mountains]

Blue sky with scattered cumulus clouds above grassland with scattered trees. The mountains in the distance are those in slide 4690/108 but taken from a different viewpoint. Probably near Esquel or Trevelin.

[View from Parys Mountain]

A view from waste tips on Parys Mountain towards a distant village. In the middle distance appear to be settlement tanks of some description.

[View from the stern of a boat]

Mountains viewed from the stern of a boat. The wake of the boat is evident in the foreground. KW is believed to have visited this area on December 23rd 1968 - see p 179-180 of 'A Wider Sky' (Gomer, 1991).
