An official reply to WEP's desire to have a detachment of troops to guard the re-erected gate at Llan-non and the Lampeter area, which seems in direct contradiction to the magistrates desire expressed at Aberaeron that county quiet and no troops or police needed. Draft of WEP's reply (Nov. 20). He had misunderstood what was said at Aberaeron. Northern part of county only quiet. If troops withdrawn he thought there would be outrages in South, and so he wanted more police for whole county.
