Wishes to introduce a delicate subject. It is said that Tjb is particular in his attentions to Miss Martin, so that people conclude an attachment. Let Tjb consider, and if he so wishes, make his proposal within a month, as another is also likely to be made in that time. On the second sheet is a copy of TJB's answer, undated from Baronhill: He is at a loss to answer on such a delicate subject. His youth upon first acquaintance, and upon greater familiarity later his wish to be polite to Miss Martin and her family dictated his actions. Wishes to continue in friendship to Miss Martin and the family. Does not wish yet to settle for his life, and would not be a bar to any other proposal to her.
