Robert Roberts, Hendre Coed, to Hugh Griffith, esq,

Robert Roberts, Hendre Coed, to Hugh Griffith, esq.,. Good wishes and thanks. The bearer, John Pryse is recommended as a tenant for the farm of Bodwillim; Rr advises against letting it to Owen Richard, a troublesome neighbour. Rr hopes for HG's favour herein; he offers his brother in law to assist in receiving the rents from tenants.

Anne Pryse, Hendrecoed, to Mrs. [Mary] Griffith,

Thanks for a letter and good wishes to AP's husband on his appointment as Controller of the Customs at Barmouth. Re the bench at [Aber] church. AP's brother Robert has returned from Bangor and will send Mg a pamphlet of poems. Best wishes for Mg's son John. AP's son Griffith is to become apprentice to an apothecary at Dolgelley.

H[ester] L[ynch] Piozzi, Streatham Park, to Hugh Griffith, esq,

H[ester] L[ynch] Piozzi, Streatham Park, to Hugh Griffith, esq.,. Apologies for giving offence in a letter, her request concerning the lease was for information. HG's having burnt Mr. Cator's receipts is awkward; Mr. Piozzi, having filed a bill in Chancery against Mr. Cator, is obliged to ask all who paid him money on HLP's account to produce vouchers. Only Hg refuses to deal with Thomas Lloyd, Denbigh, present agent of Hlp and Mr. Piozzi; Mr. Pennant of Downina is at present negotiating with him. Request for co-operation. Postscript of compliments of Hlp, Mr. Piozzi and her daughter.

H. Davies, Brynpalin, to [Thomas] Jones,

Writes on behalf of Edward Hughes, his father in law and another neighbour. They wish to have the whole farm including two pieces which Mr. Griffith had intended to leave unset, where they hope to plant wheat, Edward Hughes to tray £220 for the whole. They require a stable for the horses when they come to plough and Edward Hughes hones Jg will have a dairy erected.
