Papers relating to a suit between John Hallwood, esq., plaintiff, and Lewis Lloyd, Robert Lloyd and Robert Jones, defendants, in the lordship court of the lordship of Denbigh. Plaintiff had leased to defendants a messuage or tenement called Hafod Cefn Plas Onn with its appurtenances in the parishes of Henllan and Nantglyn, co. Denbigh, and was suing for alleged arrears of rent. The papers include copy of the lease of the messuage (7 July 1814), complaint, instructions, correspondence, bills of cost, etc.

He had often tried to get to know what Mr. Middelton's lands about Ruthin were set for, but failed. Mr. Robert Thellwall of Ruthin would help if he received authority from Mr. Middelton and would find out how much each tenant paid. He had spoken to Richard Price who owned 'the Rocke by thewart'. Price would not sell the rock alone as the house stood on it, but would sell the whole. A certain fuller and clothworker had told him there was a great want of fulling mills near Ruthin. When passing along the river bank under Ruthin castle he had noticed a convenient place 'to sett tentters' upon the hill near the castle. A couple of fulling mills might be built there with small charges, which would be beneficial to Mr. Middelton, and 'a good seate for 3 or 4 honest craftsmen and generally comodius vnto the towne considering that the next fulling mill to the said towne is ii. milles distant from the same'.
