Rhan oRobert Clive Papers
I would like to bring to the notice of Mr Drake that Muhammad Jafar Khan, jama'dar of Calcutta who was accused of stealing two boxes of ashrafis and has been imprisoned is innocent of these allegations. These accusations were levied against him by Bengalis of Calcutta at the instigation of Mirza Muhammad Ali, Faujdar of Hoogli. As his innocence has been proved beyond doubt it is requested that he may be released.
