The manuscript consists of two parts: The first part, written 1538-1539, comprises pedigrees and recipes in the hand of Huw Bangor; etc. The second part, written c. 1587, comprises Rhannau Arbennig yr Ynys; XIII Tlws; XXIV Marchog; prophecies; etc.
The old vellum cover for the first part has bicolumnar text in Latin.

A collection of miscellaneous pedigrees, which includes the following families: Barlow, Delamere, Herbert, Huntley, Hope of Broughton, Jones of Abermarles, Maunsell, Morgan of Tredegar, Philipps of Picton, Ravenscroft, Rys of Newton, Vaughan of Golden Grove, and Wogan.

Peniarth and Nannau correspondence (facsimile),

Facsimile of letters, 1601-1738, mainly of the Owen family of Peniarth and the Nanney family of Merionethshire. The correspondents include Lewis Owen (1625-1691); Richard Owen (d. 1714); Lewis Owen (d. 1729), son of Richard Owen; Elizabeth Owen, mother of the latter Lewis Owen; Margaret Owen, wife of the latter Lewis Owen and daughter of Sir William Williams, second bart, of Llanforda; Jane Bulkeley (d. 1765), daugher of Lewis and Margaret Owen; Hugh Nanney; and Richard Nanney. Other correspondents include Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, and there are letters from Margaret Owen to her father, Sir William Williams.
There is an introductory note by William W[atkin] E[dward] Wynne at the beginning of the volume, which states that "all the letters addressed to Sir William Williams, Bart., were found in the muniment room at Wynnstay, and were given to me ... in October 1833 by the Rt Honble C. W. Williams Wynn". There is a reference in the note to Dr Samuel Johnson in relation to the education of girls and women.

Petitions and letters,

The manuscript is in two parts: the first comprises copies, [first quarter of the 16th century], of petitions in Latin to the Prince and his Council at Kenyngton which were to be laid before Parliament in the reign of either Edward I or Edward III. The second part comprises copies of the letters of Morgan Llwyd and others, dated 1651, in the hand of Robert Vaughan.

A manuscript, late 15th to the 16th century, containing poetry of Dafydd ap Gwilym, Iolo Goch, Hywel Cae Llwyd, Dafydd Epynt, Rhys Fardd, Hywel Swrdwal and others.
Pp. 21-112 were written probably before 1484. The manuscript is written in various hands (p. 21 alone containing three different hands): the poems of Dafydd Epynt are all in one hand (see Peniarth MS 60); those of Hywel Cae Llwyd and Hywel Swrdwal in another (see Peniarth MS 54, part ii); those of Rhys Fardd in another hand; etc. Pp. 1-20 contain a peculiarly cramped hand. The poetry on pp. 359-392, 396-419, 422-423, 432-448 is written in bardic script (see Gwenogvryn's observations on this in J. Gwenogvryn Evans, Report on Manuscripts in the Welsh Language, vol. I (London, 1898-1905), 418). P. 257 is rubbed and the readings uncertain in part. The two leaves following p. 284b have been cut out. At least one folio is torn off at p. 448 and the remainder of the poem is inverted.

A manuscript, late 15th to the 16th century, seemingly belonging to Peniarth MS 54i, and containing poetry of Hywel Cae Llwyd and others, and pedigrees.
The cywyddau of Hywel Cae Llwyd and Hywel and Ieuan Swrdwal are written in the same hand as that which cited the works of Hywel Cae Llwyd and Hywel Swrdwal in Peniarth MS 54i.

Also included is the text of the Fifteen Tribes of North Wales; and a letter, 1645, from Jane Davies, widow of Dr Davies, Mallwyd, addressed to Robert Vaughan (pp. 241-242).

A manuscript in several 16th century hands, including that of John ap Rhys, comprising prophecies attributed to Merlin, Taliesin and others; poetry of Tudur Aled; pedigrees; the Divisions of the Lordship of Powys; and the Blessed Oil.
Various dates occur in the manuscript, for example 1541(p. 183) and 1588 (p. 219); other leaves were written temps Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.

Simwnt Fychan’s ‘Pum Llyfr Kerddwriaeth’ (pp. 1-157) followed by William Salesbury’s treatise on rhetoric (pp. 157-97), in the hand of Richard ap John, carefully written and rubricated. Copied in 1578 (p. 17) and 1579 (p. 175) from Simwnt Fychan’s text in Jesus College Oxford, MS 15 [see Gramadegau’r Penceirddiaid, eds G.J. Williams and E.J. Jones (Caerdydd, 1934), p. liv; Llên Cymru, 2 (1952-3), 71-81]. Readings from the awdl by Einion Offeiriad to Rhys ap Gruffydd (on pp. 137-43) are printed in Y Cymmrodor, 26 (1916), 138-40. Added on pp. 199-209, also in the hand of Richard ap John, writing in 1585 (p. 209), are translations from Latin made in 1585 by David Johns of Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd: ‘Llyma weddi ... Awgwstin’ [see National Library of Wales Journal, 7 (1951-2), 297-8] and ‘Dengran gwahaniaeth kristnogion y byd’ [printed from here in Rhyddiaith Gymraeg, eds T.H.
