1 Mary Kemeys. 2 Sir Charles Kemeys of Kevenmably, co. Glam., bart. As 2 in no. D31. Agreement as in no. D31 concerning a debt of £2,253.18.4 due to 1 from 2.

1 George Kemeys. 2 Sir Charles Kemeys of Kevenmably, co. Glam., bart. Agreement that if 2 would pay 1 a debt of £1,691.13.4 and 40s. costs of a Judgement in the Court of Exchequer within one year to be computed from 20 June last that 1 will give 2 a sufficient warrant of attorney to acknowledge satisfaction of any legacy claimed under the will of his father.

1 William Thomas, esq. 2 Richard Tanner of Sully, co. Glam., yeoman. Agreement to lease for 99 years determinable upon three lives a parcel of land called oxe hams, p. St Andrewes [co. Glam.]. Fine: £60 (£40 already paid and the remainder to be paid at the day of sealing the lease) and £2.2.0 to Lady Thomas. Annual rent: 10s., 1s. in lieu of duty, heriot of 20s.

An unnamed correspondent from Halswell to 'Jenny'. Would give the correspondent pleasure to hear that she was happily married, but without a competency her complaints would soon return. Fragment.

Andrew Wiseley to Sir Charles Kemeys. Wishing him to settle an account for £6 due to him for 2 whigs and powdering.

Anne Robinson to Sir Charles Kemeys. Wishes to present his 'pritty' son with a medal. [Late 17th cent. - see Vol. I, No. C640.].

Anthony Martin to Sir Charles Kemeys-tynte. Wishing him to lend him 4 or 5 guineas, as he had been arrested for debt and was in Cardiff gaol, in order to secure his speedy release; he had to pay 5s. every Sunday for serving his cure.

Anthony Montonnier to Edward Kemeys. Concerning writer's account with Thomas, the tailor; a complaint had been levied against Mr Towgood, the postmaster, by Mr Windham at the general post, but he was sure of the support of Mr Morgan of Tredegar and of the writer's, his master.

Appointment by Thomas, earl of Pembroke and Montgomery, lord Herbert, of Sir Charles Keymes as constable of Cardiff castle in the place of William Herbert, esq., lately dec.

1 John Giffard of Halsbery, Devon, esq. 2 Katherine Giffard of the same, widow, on behalf of herself and her daughter Katherine. Articles Of Agreement between 1 and 2: (i) l to pay his niece Katherine £2,000 in two payments, £1,000 on her marriage and £1,000 on 25 March 1668, and in case she should marry before that date the sum of £2,000 to be paid at that time on condition that she shall give to 1 full assurance in the law to confirm to 1 all her title to the estate of her father Thomas Giffard, dec., of Halesbury; (ii) KG to deliver to 2 all deeds relating to the premises and to a farm called Winslade; (iii) 1 to pay f40 pa to his niece until the portion of £2,000, or part of it, be paid; (iv) 1 to confirm to his sister in law her claim of a jointure; (v) 1 to secure £2,000 to his niece by a mortgage of Halsbery and the other entailed lands and shall have quiet possession of Halsbery and the rest of the lands on 29 Sept.

1 Sir John Tynte, bart. 2 Charles Tynte, esq. 3 Ruishe Hassell, esq. Articles Of Agreement comprising: (i) 1 to pay 3 the arrears of interest due on his wife's fortune; (ii) 1 and 2 to Join in a mortgage of the lands which Sir Halswell Tynte, their brother, died seised of in fee simple in Somerset, to trustees named in the marriage settlement of 3 and Jane his wife, for securing the payment of £400 to the uses contained in the settlement; (iii) 3 and his wife to assign to 2 (her brother) her share in the £9,000 mentioned in the will of Sir John Tynte, dec., and in all the estate they claim in the lands of the said Sir JT in respect of any portion due to her; (iv) Jane to assign to 1 a note of hand for £1,000 given to her by Sir Halswell Tynte.
