Disgrifiad archifol
Sir John Williams Deeds and Papers,
Rhagolwg argraffu Gweld:

Egerton Phillimore,

Thanks JW for the promptness in looking through the catalogue and for sending the cheque for £30. Thanks JW for taking so many of the books as they are somewhat out of his direct line.

Egerton Phillimore,

Informing JW that the 4 boxes are sent. In 1884 he bought most or many of George Borrow's Welsh books for a song. Most contain his autograph. JW has bought some of them and he suggests that JW might like the others. He wishes JW to have 2 or 3 books which had belonged to Thomas Brigstocke of Carmarthen with his signature.

Egerton Phillimore,

Notes and queries on books at Nutt's which JW might like. Works of George Borrow. Apologies for delay in sending box. He is preparing a catalogue of about 300 works for JW which will be ready for Nutt to value on Wednesday or Thursday.

Egerton Phillimore,

JW would have had the 2nd instalment of the catalogue on Saturday if Nutt had come to value. His financial commitments. He has now found and catalogued a perfect copy of Y Fel Gafod in the original wrapper.

Egerton Phillimore,

He has packed up three quarters of the books. Books mentioned include Siluria, Warner's Wales, Thomas Jones of Mold's Dictionary, Gweddi'r Arglwydd wedi ei Egluro, 1685, the two editions of Twm o'r Nant's Gardd o Gerddi, 1826, one at Merthyr and the other at Ruthyn.

George, D. Lloyd,

  1. H. of C. 2. 11 Downing St. A wealthy Welshman has given him money to be distributed amongst Welsh Educational Institutions, and D.Ll.G. has decided to give half of it, £5000, to the NLW Seeking JW's financial support of the Newspaper Fund.
