A volume, 19 cent., containing four unbound tracts, namely, an essay, in Welsh, on Y Ferch Rinweddol, with verses, probably sent in for an unknown competition (18 pp.); a tale, in Welsh, about Twm o'r Nant, together with a portion of a song by him, in the hand of David Evans, Llanrwst (4 pp.); notes for sermons, in English and Welsh, in the hand of the Reverend D. Davies, Pantteg (18 pp.); notes, in Welsh, on the Protestant Reformation in the hand of the Reverend D. Davies, Pantteg (8 pp.).

Arguments for maintaining the courts of the Marches

A volume containing an outline of a speech by Sir Francis Bacon, together with the replies of Sergeants Hulton and Harris, before the Privy Council, April 1608. The speech and its responses express support and opposition regarding the contention that Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire were part of the Marches of Wales.

Reverend Joseph Jenkins: Commonplace book

A commonplace book, c. 1765-c. 1817, belonging to the Reverend Joseph Jenkins, which includes correspondence, registers of baptisms, sermons, etc. One the inside back cover, the author has written a list of his children by his two wives, with the dates of their births and deaths.

An envelope containing two vellum covers of 16 cent. manuscripts; a sermon, in Welsh, on Matthew 27, 25, preached at Llandrillo, 7 April 1754; and a small volume (88 pp.) of sermons, in Welsh, preached at Llanarmon, 1708, and Llangybi, 1712.

Sermons and poetry, &c.

A packet containing a sermon on John 31; a sermon or religious tract, one page being written on the back of a letter addressed by D. Davies to the Reverend J. M. Colson of Swanage; a collection of penillion and other poetry by Gwilym Cowlyd, together with papers relating to the Glan Geirionydd Arwest in 1881.
