John Davies: Bywyd Mohammed, llyfryn hanesion, a barddoniaeth

A volume, 1751, mostly in the hand of John Davies, Pentrefoelas (1675-1769), containing an account of the life of the prophet Mohammed (pp. 1-10), an account told by 'Mr Harbert Griffydd o Gaer yn Arfon' (pp. 11-21), and miscellaneous poetry (pp. 22-78 passim). The tale noted in pp. 11-21 was published as a chap-book at Trefriw, c. 1780, with the title Adroddiad Nodedig o'r Byd Anweledig, &c. and was probably copied into this manuscript from an earlier edition of the chap-book.

David Jones: Caneuon

A chap-book, entitled Drych y Merched neu Fuchedd Araith am Wragedd yn Ddwy Rann, y Gyntaf yn cynnwys Dull y rhai Ffol, Yr Ail yn cynnwys Cynneddfau y rhai Doeth, containing two songs, in Welsh, written, 1754, by David Jones of Trefriw (1708?-1785) and arranged for printing. The margins of the volume are covered with references to books and manuscripts, in both Welsh and English.

John Thomson: Letter from St Petersburg

A letter from John Thomson of St Petersburg, dated 30 August 1770, apparently written to a friend in Scotland who had at one time resided in Russia. The letter gives an account of various Scottish and English people residing in Russia at the time and also of the financial and political conditions of the country.

John Fenwick: Militia papers

The letter-book of John Fenwick, of 69 Millbank Street, Westminster, containing copies of letters sent by him to the Right Honourable William Windham, Secretary at War, as agent for the volunteers and militia at Havant, Anglesey, Caernarfon, Flint, Carmarthen and Christchurch. The book also contains copies of letters and instructions forwarded to the militia and its officers.

Pembroke poll books

Poll books for Pembrokeshire for the years 1765 and 1768, the candidates in both elections being Sir Richard Philipps, bart, and Hugh Owen. A petition, signed by eighty-four persons, in favour of the bill introduced by Sir Henry Mackworth against the pressing seamen has been inserted at the beginning of the books.
