The series consists of constituency files containing correspondence and papers, 1985, 1989-1991, relating to the selection of parliamentary candidates: minutes of selection meetings, selection timetables, reports of selection panels, nomination of prospective candidates, executive committee shortlistings, ballot papers etc.

The series consists of records, 1949-1994, of various constituency parties and wards within Cardiff, and administrative papers, 1986-1990, relating to the Cardiff City Labour Party and to the Labour group on the Cardiff City Council.

Cardiff Labour Party Records

The file comprises records relating to Labour Party politics in the city of Cardiff. Among the records are the account book, 1949-1994, of the Grangetown Ward Labour Party; a ledger, 1953-1964; and an attendance register, 1982-1987, of the Cardiff South East Labour Party. There are also a number of local election leaflets, various reports, memoranda and policy documents and miscellaneous Labour Party circulars and political pamphlets.

The file contains correspondence and papers, 1984-1986, mainly circulars, relating to the activities of the Welsh Regional Committee of Labour Students, many to its suspension by the Labour Party.
