A.J. Williams Papers,
Rhagolwg argraffu Gweld:

Letter to W. H. Wyndham-Quin,

Could not be present at the dinners held at Cardiff to welcome W. H. Wyndham-Quin back from South Africa. Remembers W. H. Wyndham-Quin's kindness and consideration when a political opponent. A. J. Williams's family cherishes the memory of Dr Price. Is bitterly opposed to the war in south Africa, and derives comfort from the fact that 'a wave of shame and pity is sweeping through the land'. Cannot, therefore, attend the dinner of welcome to W. H. Wyndham-Quin at Bridgend, and intends to say why publicly. See A 1/95 for reply.

Letter to J. R. Redmond,

AJR was always loyal to Ireland when an MP. Believes Irishmen should be allowed to manage their own affairs, and J. R. Redmond and his party should assist the Liberal Party to victory at the next general election. The question of sectarian education in Britain and Ireland also needs to be settled. See A 1/115 for reply.

Letter from J. T. Parry, 14 Canon Street Barry, General Secretary & Registration Agent to the South Glamorgan Liberal Association ...,

Letter from J. T. Parry, 14 Canon Street Barry, General Secretary & Registration Agent to the South Glamorgan Liberal Association, to A. J. Williams. A special meeting of the Liberal 'Five Hundred' held at Cardiff on 7 December passed a resolution thanking A. J. Williams for his services as MP for South Glamorgan.

Extract from letter from J. T. Parry to Edward John,

A most amicable committee meeting produced a list of eight possible Liberal candidates for South Glamorgan. It was decided to submit the top three names - J. Blandy Jenkins, A. J. Williams and Alderman Walter H. Morgan - to the District Association, and to enquire of the three gentlemen whether they wished to be considered as candidates.

Letter from A. J. Williams to T. E. Ellis,

Believes the seat would have been held if he had received a baronetcy. Finds it 'mortifying' that Agnew should have received one. Intends to stand aside but cannot begin anew in another constituency. Copy.
