Miscellaneous accounts

The file comprises miscellaneous accounts, 1775-1862, including comparative prices of corn, 1816, bill for painting a pew in St Asaph church, 1833, list of tickets sold for Denbigh Corporation Michaelmas dinner, 1827, and account of Lord Mostyn's estate, [1844x1855].

Minerals

The file comprises agreements by John Griffith (2) and (3) to grant mining leases for the extraction of lead ores, calk (pitch) and calamine (zinc ore) from land at Llanefydd and Henllan, 1751, 1752, 1771, an account of expenses at Coed Pantwn, 1752, authorisation to Rev. John Price to let part of a mine working in Llanarmon-yn Iâl, 1757, and note of sale of lead ore, 1789.

Militia regulations, accounts and registers

The file comprises printed pamphlets, circulars and handwritten notices outlining regulations to be observed nationally by militia groups in Britain, and more particularly, by the Denbigh and Lleweni Volunteers, 1801-1807, accounts, 1813, and records of the Denbighshire Regiment of Yeomanry Cavalry, 1871-1876, including pay lists, a summarised attendance register and muster roll.

Merllyn, Henllan Mill and house, and Pentre Du, Llanefydd and Henllan

The file comprises deeds for the sale of Merllyn, Henllan Mill and house, and Pentre Du by John Heaton and John Richard Heaton, his eldest son, to George Griffith in 1837. Pentre Du had been included in the marriage settlement of Robert Wynne, 1751, and was sold by his son to John and Sarah Heaton with the rest of the Plasnewydd estate in 1808. J.H. acquired Merllyn and the Mill, mortgaged by Robert Watkin Wynne in 1790, by an exchange of lands in 1831. Another property at Pentre Du had been purchased by John Griffith (3) of Garn in 1782.

Maurice of Llanasa

The file comprises copies, made in 1838, of parish register entries and tombstone inscriptions, 1681-1682, of Dr David Maurice, his wife, Ales, son, William, and daughter, Grace, who married Edward Griffith of Plasnewydd in 1683/4.

Maintenance and repair accounts

The file comprises accounts and outline instructions for maintenance and repair of buildings, including the malt house at Cae'r berllan [c. 1806], and extensive renovation of windows and plumbing at Garn and other Denbighshire properties, 1819-1834.
