The file comprises typescript volumes of evidence in the case Edwards v. Williams concerning a dispute over property known as Tynymaes, heard in the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice, 17-24 November 1919.

The file contains copies, in a large number of different hands, of poems, drafts of articles and notes (many intended for publication in the journals edited by O. M. Edwards), and many other notes.

The file comprises a small group of photographs acquired by O. M. Edwards. Almost all are unlabelled. Many are evidently members of the Edwards family. There is also a group photograph of the members of Cymdeithas Dafydd ap Gwilym, Oxford, during 1887-1888, the second year of its existence.

Pocket wallet

The file comprises a leather pocket wallet with the letters 'O.M.E.' embossed in gold, and containing a small notebook marked, 'Hav Edwards, Form II' bearing a few notes on various academic subjects.

Professional papers

The section comprises correspondence, papers and records deriving from O. M. Edwards's work as Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales under the aegis of the Welsh Department of the Board of Education from 1907 to 1920, and papers, 1892-1920, relating to his involvement in Welsh publishing, notably the editing of numerous journals and editions of the Welsh classics.

Board of Education Correspondence

The series comprises letters addressed to O. M. Edwards as Chief Inspector of Schools in Wales, drafts and copies of some letters despatched by him, together with other related papers. There are many letters from prominent Welsh figures. Most of the early letters relate to the establishment of the Welsh Department of the Board of Education. Most letters relate to inspections of individual schools, the policies and activities of the Board of Education at Whitehall, local education authorities, the appointment of teachers, and the teaching of individual subjects.

This series consists of bankbooks for accounts with the Bala branch of the North and South Wales Bank Ltd of ab Owen, publisher, Llanuwchllyn, and for the publication of Cymru, Cymru'r Plant, Wales, and Y Llenor.

Circulation, sales, subscribers

The series comprises notebooks kept by O. M. Edwards recording details of circulation figures for Cymru and Cymru'r Plant, sales of volumes produced by ab Owen Publishers; lists of subscribers to Clasuron Cymru, reference works, volumes on Welsh history, journals, Hwiangerddi Cymru, and Cyfres y Fil.
