Ellis requesting information on the National Petition on the Legal Status of the Welsh Language, 1937-41, and the resultant Welsh Courts Act of 1942, material required in writing his 1962 radio broadcast Tynged yr Iaith. The letter is accompanied by manuscript and typescript notes by T. I. Ellis on the 1937-9 campaign, a typescript copy of a note, 4 December 1940, by W. J. Gruffydd on the need to grant T. I. Ellis an additional petrol allowance to facilitate the work of the campaign, and a note of thanks, 1 January 1962, from SL to T. I. Ellis.
