Most of the letters were sent from South Africa and many relate to David Ivon Jones's involvement with the South Africa Labour Party and trade union activities. The last few letters were sent from Nice, Stockholm, Moscow and Yalta, and the volume also contains a few items relating to David Ivon Jones's death at Yalta on 24 May, and his burial at Moscow on 14 June 1924.
