Diary,

A printed diary for 1802 compiled by, and presented by G. Thompson to the Rt. Hon. Lady Ann Erskine. Most of the manuscript entries appear to date from 1824-1826. The diary apparently belonged to a member of the family of Taylor of Carmarthen and Thomas of Waun-yr-hyddod, p. Llanboidy, and Laugharne, and afterwards of Cae-glas, Llandeilo Fawr, all co. Carm.. Diary with poems,

The diary of Commander George Eyre Powell, R.N., (1790-1855), of Colyton, Devon, 21 Dec. 1810-18 April 1824 and 5 Feb. 1840-22 Aug. 1843. Preceding the diary entries, there are a number of poems in English and one French poem, dated between 1812 and 1824, many of which bear the initials 'G.E.P.'. English; French. XIX cent. A typewritten copy made for George Eyre Evans of the diary of George Eyre Powell, 1810-1843 (NLW MS 13271A, above), together with typewritten copies of letters, dated between 1820 and 1841, from George Eyre Powell to his wife, Catherine, and to his daughter, Ophelia, and from Catherine Powell to her husband, and of testimonials to George Eyre Powell from Captain Edmund Palmer, Admiral Sir Charles Rowley, bart, Sir William Hoste, bart., Captain Herbert Brace Powell, Captain W. Sargent, and Captain F. E. Lock. The original letters and copies of the testimonials are to be found in NLW MS 13563E. Also included are three letters and a receipt, dated 1914, from the Association of Women Clerks and Secretaries to George Eyre Evans concerning the typing of the volume. English. A volume containing (1) the diary of George Eyre Powell, junior, (1820-1836), son of Commander George Eyre Powell, R.N., and Catherine, his wife, for the period January to 2 July 1836; (2) a letter book, containing copies of letters sent by George Eyre Powell, junior, from Honiton, between 2 May and 3 July 1836, to his father (10), to his grandmother, C. Kingdon (5), to his sister, Lavinia Powell, to an un-named sister, and to his mother, all of Colyton, to F. Wait, esq., Mr. Edward Cornish, the Rev. C. R. Roper, George Hirtzel, esq., and Mr. James Templeton, all of Exeter, to W. Baillio, esq., of Brighton, and to John Melhuish, esq., of Honiton; (3) a list of books including those read 'While at School at Mount Radford'; (4) notes headed 'Memoirs of the Rev. T. David Ivon Jones letters,

A volume of letters, post-cards, photographs, press cuttings &c. from David Ivon Jones to George Eyre Evans. Most of the letters were sent from South Africa and many relate to David Ivon Jones's involvement with the South Africa Labour Party and trade union activities. The last few letters were sent from Nice, Stockholm, Moscow and Yalta, and the volume also contains a few items relating to David Ivon Jones's death at Yalta on 24 May, and his burial at Moscow on 14 June 1924. A volume of press cuttings, being a series of articles entitled 'Cymru Fu' which appeared in the Welsh Gazette, containing antiquarian notes on various aspects of the history of Cardiganshire, as well as items of correspondence relating to the same. Commonplace book,

A commonplace book which belonged to Delia Powell containing verses on death; five draft letters from Delia Powell to an aunt in London, 1845-1846; the substance of a new year's sermon preached at Sidmouth by the Rev. J. B. Lloyd, 1 Jan. 1864; and short prose items by Delia Powell, 1844-1845. English. Formerly George Eyre Evans Bequest MS 71.
