Aberystwyth Dispensary and Infirmary,

A group of letters relating to the Aberystwyth Dispensary, later known as the Aberystwyth Infirmary. The letters, mainly addressed to Dr. Richard Williams, include correspondence concerning subscriptions to the hospital scheme, as well as items relating to the administration of the establishment. On the background to the establishment of both institutions see D. I. Evans, 'Hospital Services in Aberystwyth before 1948', Ceredigion, vol. 5 (1965), pp. 168-208. English. Aberystwyth miscellanea,

An album compiled by George Eyre Evans, containing a collection of one hundred and ninety-five autograph letters, manuscript poems and other documents, printed notices, broadsides, circulars, photographs, etc., of Aberystwyth interest. The majority relate to the Aberystwyth Dispensary, later known as the Aberystwyth Infirmary, and particularly to the payment of subscriptions, 1821-1844. Others relate to the erection and renovation of St Michael's Church, 1825-1846; the restoration of the parish church of Llanbadarn Fawr, 1867; the opening of the Public Library, 1906; and the Exhibition of the Centenary of the Introduction of Printing, 1909.
Included in the volume is a typescript schedule of the documents.
