Copy of a printed letter (8 pages) dated November 1901, marked 'Private & Confidential' and signed by Lord Rendel, President of the College 1895 - 1913: the recipient is not named, but comparison with a letter referred to by Dr E L Ellis in The University College of Wales Aberystwyth. 1872 - 1972 (p.132) confirms that this was a letter sent by Rendel to Andrew Carnegie - it is a powerful appeal for funds for Welsh education, and for the College in particular, but despite Rendel's eloquence Carnegie was not moved to contribute.
