Articles Of Agreement for the marriage settlement, [pre-nuptial] of Frauncis Lagharne, gent., one of the sons of John Lagharne of St. Brides, esquire, and Lettice Vaughan one of the daughters of James Vaughan of Pontvaen, gent., whereby the said James Vaughan covenants that at the next Great Sessions for co. Pembroke, he will convey to such trustees as John Lagharne will nominate, two messuages at Trenewyth, parish of Pontvaen, now or late in the occupation of John Thomas, and [Willm. Lewis?], and another messuage at Trenewydd in the possession of Evan David Thomas who holds in as ample a manner as John Gwyn now deceased; the messuage called Pontbridd in occupation of Owen John Lewis; Plas y Bontvaen, where James Vaughan now lives, and a parcell of land in the parish of Morvill; to the use of the said James Vaughan for life, with remainder to the said Francis Laugharne and Lettice his intended wife, with remainder to their heirs; in default of such heirs, than to the right heirs of said James Vaughan. James Vaughan agrees to give the said Francis and Lettice, goods to the value of £100. The said John Lagharne covenants that he will, together with Hugh Owens of Orielton, esquire, convey to such trustees as may be nominated by James Vaughan, all that Lordship of Castle Canlas and Mabws vach in the parish of Mathri, with two messuages in the same parish in the occupation of Thomas ap Harry, to the use of Francis Lagharne and Lettice Vaughan and their heirs. Further John Lagharne agrees, to convey to Francis Lagharne, by lease, that messuage in the parish of Haiescastle in the occupation of John Andrew for 21 years, for 3 lives. John Lagharne covenants to pay £200 to James Vaughan, as a marriage portion of his daughter. Witnesses: Tho.
