The group consists of H. Clarence Whaite's personal papers, 1825-1912, comprising correspondence, 1825-1912, letter books and diaries, 1874-1912, personalia and greetings cards, 1825-1912, papers relating to art subjects of interest and collected by him, 1845-1911, and a few miscellaneous papers, 1863-1912.

Personalia

The series consists of biographical material, 1826-1912, material relating to the Whaite family, Bridge Street, Manchester, 1825-1879, and several items relating to membership of various societies to which H.Clarence Whaite belonged, 1869-1907.

President's reports

The series comprises reports, 1886-1911, written by H. Clarence Whaite, and read at the annual meetings of the Royal Cambrian Academy. The contents include the decision to move the Academy from Cardiff to Plas Mawr, Conwy, and news of exhibitions.

Printed books and booklets

The file comprises a variety of printed books and booklets relating to art and artists, 1845-1903, including The Royal Academy, its uses and abuses, 1898; several National Eisteddfod programmes where H.
