The series comprises manuscript drafts of films, plays and short stories by Bernice Rubens, c. 1960-1999, including original work and adaptations both of her own novels and also of novels and plays by other authors.

Screenplays and related notes and correspondence. Most of them are for film adaptations of novels by Bernice Rubens, and are not written by her, but notable exceptions include An African farm and The pledge.
