Withdrawal from Gallipoli,

Orders (marked 'secret') and memoranda concerning parties allocated to duties during the evacuation from Gallipoli, including mining, covering the withdrawal from Hill 60, removal and disposal of equipment, and covering embarkation, as well as the manner in which the nocturnal withdrawal was to be carried out. The operation involved the Eastern Mounted Brigade (comprising the Welsh Horse, the Suffolk Yeomanry and the Norfolk Yeomanry), the Indian Brigade, and parts of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

Printed military maps (mostly produced by the Ordnance Survey), with annotations, of northern France and southern Belgium, including the areas around Péronne and the river Somme, Armentières, Arras, Béthune, Tournai and Ypres. Also included is a map sheet of the British front around Armentières produced for the Daily Telegraph, together with two French tourist road maps of northern France and parts of Belgium.

Papers accumulated during the course of Julian Franklyn's research into the recruitment, training, equipment and campaigns of the Welsh Horse (Lancers) Yeomanry, with particular reference to Lord Kensington's role in them, including many records that were originally created by the Welsh Horse itself and first accumulated by Kensington as its commanding officer.

Unit strengths and casualties at Gallipoli,

Lists of soldiers of the Welsh Horse (Lancers) forming squadrons and subsidiary detachments during the Gallipoli campaign, compiled to indicate the nominal strength of units, together with lists of those killed, wounded or missing, and also a captured medical history sheet relating to Turkish soldiers. Also included are some duplicates, made by Julian Franklyn.

Trumpet Major Brazill,

Correspondence, memoranda, testimonials and other papers relating to the trial and conviction of T. Maj. Brazill for bigamy, and previously for failing to support his dependants, and also matters arising from the arrest by the civil authorities of a soldier on active service.

Striking camp at Margam Park,

Correspondence relating to a number of matters that arose when the Welsh Horse struck camp at Margam Park, including the confused and dirty state of the camp, the responsibility for employment and payment of civilian labour, and a dispute with an officer of the Army Service Corps about the provision of a rearguard.

Reports on Commanding Officers, and other correspondence,

Confidential reports on Commanding Officers in the Eastern Mounted Brigade and the South Eastern Mounted Brigade, Egyptian Expeditionary Force (including members of the Suffolk Yeomanry, the Norfolk Yeomanry, the Sussex Yeomanry, the West Kent Yeomanry and the Royal East Kent Yeomanry, as well as the Welsh Horse), together with the letter sent on behalf of the Commander-in-Chief which prompted the reports. Also included are letters relating to: Maj. Goldthorpe's appointment to the Derbyshire Yeomanry; a dispute between an officer of the Welsh Horse (Lancers) and Col Pearson; and horse troughs.

Circular letter from the War Office concerning plans to allow some Non-Commissioned Officers attached to the Permanent Staff of the Territorial Force to receive commissions in the regular army, giving details of the terms under which the offer is made, and asking for recommendations of individuals who might be considered.
