Letters (some incomplete), 1880-1884 and 1887-1890, addressed by Arthur Owen Vaughan to his sister [Miss Ada Mills, later Mrs Ada Stott] and brother [Phil], together with some empty envelopes, 1888-1904. The letters were written during his time in America as a cowboy and addressed from locations such as Middle Kiowa, Colorado; Cummins City, Wyoming; Laramie, Wyoming; Forsyth, Montana; and during his time in London, and with The Royal Dragoons. They are signed under one of his several names and pseudonyms, such as Robert Mills, Bob, Robert Glyndur / Glyndwr, and R. S. Milne. Also included is a letter addressed to Robert from David and Martha Wilkinson, dated 15 August 1883.

Miscellaneous Notes titled 'The History of Wales' by Gilbert Stone, sometime Scholar of Gonville and Caius, Cambridge. BA, Llb, published in 1915 by Harrap of Kingsway. It contains an extract which refers critically to the work of Arthur Owen Vaughan. Contained with the extract in the same handwriting is a note. The author claims to know Egmont Hake, the biographer and cousin of General Gordon. The author relates how he knew about Col. Vaughan in South Africa and how he was described by one who served with him as 'the bravest man I ever knew.' .

Miscellaneous Verse contained in an envelope addressed to R. Vaughan in Canada, postmark London 16 Nov. 1944. A note on the envelope questions whether the verse was written by Arthur Owen Vaughan.

Newspaper Cutting enclosed in an envelope addressed to Olwen Vaughan, 33 Teversham Drift, Cherry Hinton, Cambridge. Headline reads 'Kruger's Old Home may be in Nazi hands'. A note in O. V's hand stating that it was sent by the Macdonalds of Nattal.

Newspaper Cutting from the Western Mail, dated 24 November 1928, referring to the Arthur Owen Vaughan memorial and listing the subscribers to the memorial fund. The article includes a sketch of the memorial monument and inscription. Also an earlier typescript copy of the article but with a few changes.

Notebook containing extracts of correspondence copied in the hand of Arthur Owen Vaughan's daughter, Olwen Vaughan including correspondence between Arthur Owen Vaughan and J. Glyn Davies, letters from his wife, Catherine Louisa Vaughan to J. Glyn Davies written after her husband's death and from Olwen Vaughan to J. Glyn Davies. Extracts have been transcribed from newspapers in the back of the notebook.
