Original and photocopied correspondence to and from Gwen John. There are files dedicated to Gwen John's relationships with Rodin and R.M. Rilke and her friendships with Dorelia John, Ursula Tyrwhitt and Véra Oumançoff. Also present is a file containing correspondence between Gwen John, John Quinn and Jeanne Foster.

Black & white copies of artworks by Gwen John, many backstamped or annotated on the reverse. Included is a copy of a photograph of a young girl sitting in a garden stroking a cat. This latter photo looks as though it belongs with those marked 'Prints from negatives in the Gwen John Documentation'.
Original papers including sketchbooks, notebooks and diaries. There is a notebook, given to Gwen John on her birthday by her father, where she and some of her friends have written quotes from various sources. Also, there are two original prayer cards that inspired Gwen John's painting of the Nuns. There is a collection of papers concerning her death and will and papers regarding an exhibition of her work in 1946 and her early sales.
Correspondence between Ida John and Dorelia with some letters by Augustus John to Dorelia. There are also some letters by Ida John to her mother describing how she feels about her pregnancies.

Copy photographs from a number of sources of artworks by Gwen John. Most are annotated on the reverse, many are backstamped with the name of the institution holding the original.
Copy of a battered studio portrait of two girls and photos of a series of sketches, many dated 1931. A number of the sketches seem to be based on the aforementioned studio portrait. Also seven smaller, modern prints which have been produced from older negatives.
Slides of artworks by Gwen and Augustus John. Many are commercially prepared slides sold by various galleries and museums.
