Letter from R. Weedon, Lincolns Inn, to Thomas Lloyd, esq., Overton,

Has an office copy of the will of Captain Egton but, it being sixteen sheets, could not post it. Presumes that he has heard of the death of the Queen due to a mortification in her bowels. She underwent an operation of surgery performed by Mr Shipton and others which, however, terminated in her death. A private letter from Spain has revealed that the Spaniards have begun the siege of Gibraltar and has heard it reported that they have taken Georgia.

Letter from R[ichard] Llwyd, [Chester] to Miss Giffard of Nerquis [Hall],

Mr Morris has applied for the heraldry of three of her ancestral families - Williams of Pant y Gwyddel, Roberts of Plas Ucha, Wynnes of Plas Newydd. There are probably many old documents in local history, genealogy and heraldry in the British language, which with careful perusal and comparison with manuscripts in his possession would result in much elucidation. Better to defer the glass staining until corrections are obtained.

Letter from [Rev.] M. H. Lee, Whitchurch, Shropshire, to Miss Fletcher,

Much obliged for the letter. Now sends a copy of the other Nerquis Church faculty with a short sketch of the meaning. In respect to the weather, the springs were more genial from '36 to '50. Has been to see Mrs Barfield at her home in Porchester Terrace. The eldest son is going through an engineering course. He is writing an account on Roman roads in English Maelor for the Archaeological Review.
