Two note-books each containing a variant version of an essay on the life and works of Jane Austen. The version in the first note-book (NLW MS 12934C) has the title 'The Life, Character, and Genius of Jane Austen' and the date 'February, 1898' inscribed on the first page, and the name of W[illiam] Porter at the end.

Two registers (incomplete) recording the attendance of students at lectures [at the C.M. Theological College, Bala] during the sessions 1909- 1910, 1910-1911, 1912-1913, and 1919-1920, and terminal examination results [at the same college], 1907-1909.

Certificates and testimonials obtained by William Porter in connection with his studies at Edinburgh University, New College, Edinburgh, and various academic institutions in Germany, 1897-1903, and a passport issued to him, 1901.

Nine holograph or autograph letters, [19]22-1925, from [the Reverend] John Jones, Llangoed, W[ynn] P[owell] Wheldon, registrar, University College of North Wales, Bangor, [the Reverend] T[homas] C[harles] W[illiams], Menai Bridge, Tho[ma]s P. Williams from Cardiff, and Tom Williams, Gwalchmai (5). One of the letters is addressed to Principal J[ohn] O[wen] Thomas, The Theological College, Aberystwyth, and six more are, by inference, to the same addressee. All relate to the educational qualifications, etc., of the aforementioned Tom Williams of Gwalchmai and the possibility of his being admitted to the Theological College [Aberystwyth] as a student.

Three note-books containing cyclostyled copies (mounted or tipped in) of examination papers in Hebrew grammar and composition, Old Testament history, Old Testament canon, etc. [? set in terminal examinations at the Calvinistic Methodist College, Bala], 1907-1913. NLW MS 13026D also contains mounted cuttings of the Hebrew text of 2 Samuel, chapters ?I-XIV, with accompanying manuscript notes, and NLW MS 13027D mounted cuttings of the Hebrew text of chapters XV-XXIV of the same book. In several instances the examination papers have been superimposed on the text of, and notes on, the Book of Samuel.

Seventeen exercise books containing examination questions on various books of the Old and New Testament (general and detailed textual questions), Hebrew grammar and syntax, the history and religion of Israel, etc. Many of the questions have been transcribed from degree examination papers of the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Wales.

Twelve note-books containing ? notes of lectures given by Professor [George Edward Bateman] Saintsbury [of the University of Edinburgh] (English literature), Dr. A[ndrew] B[ruce] Davidson [of New College, Edinburgh] (Old Testament studies), and Professor [Archibald Robert Stirling] Kennedy [of the University of Edinburgh] (Hebrew), circa 1898- 1900, and by Professor [Emil Friedrich] Kautzsch [of the University of Halle] (Old Testament theology), 1902.

A note-book containing lecture notes on Shakespeare and other Elizabethan and Jacobean dramatists and poets. The first page is inscribed 'English Notes. Book III. Professor Masson', and bears the name of James S. Wilson and the date 18 February 1895. The notes appear to be those of lectures delivered 18-26 February [18]95.
