Six contemporaneous volumes, [1690s], of pedigrees and armorials of royal and noble families of mainland Europe, written in the same hand.
These include French, Burgundian, Hungarian and Dutch heraldry and genealogies. A whole volume (15057B) is devoted to the de Croy family who may have commissioned the work.

La Maison de Bourgogne

A volume, [1690s], of biographies, painted armorials and pedigrees of members of three reigning houses in Burgundy and their collateral branches.
It comprises the Bosonid Dynasty from Beuves d'Ardennes (822-877) to Henry I of Burgundy (948-1002), the Capetian House of Burgundy from Robert I "le Vieux", son of Robert II, king of the Franks (1011-1076), to Philip I of Burgundy (1346-1361), and the House of Valois from Philip II "le Hardi" of Burgundy (1342-1384) to Mary of Burgundy (1457-1482) (pp. 1-167); the counts of Nevers, descended from the House of Valois, from Philip of Burgundy (1389-1415), to Charlotte of Burgundy (1472-1500) (pp. 169-184); the lords of Montagu et Chagny, descended from the Capetian House of Burgundy, from Alexandre (1170-1205) to N. de Montagu (15 cent.) (pp. 185-232); and the counts of Albon and dauphins of Viennois descended from the Capetian House of Burgundy, from André or Guigues (VI) of Burgundy (1184-1237) to Anne of Burgundy, wife of Humbert I de La Tour-du-Pin (1240-1307) (pp. 235-248). There are annotations and transcripts, [19 cent., last ¼], in the hand of G. T. Clark, both in the manuscript and on new leaves tipped in (18 ff.), with other genealogical and biographical notes by him, in French English and Latin (9 ff.), filed separately.

La Maison de Croy

A volume, [1690s], of biographies, painted armorials and pedigrees of various branches of the Croy family.
It begins with Stephen, third son of king Bela III of Hungary (c. 1148-1196) and father of Mark of Hungary the alleged founder of the Croy family, and ends with Philip Emmanuel de Croy, count of Solre (1611-1670).

Les Comtes de Hollande &c.

A volume, [1690s], of biographies, painted armorials and pedigrees of the Counts of Holland, in French and Dutch.
The volume lists rulers from Dirk [I], count of Holland, Zealand and Frisia (916-959), to Jacqueline, countess of Hainaut, Holland, Zealand and Frisia (1401-1436) (ff. 3 verso-58); the lords of Brederode from Siegfried van Brederode (c. 1060-c. 1100) to Raynald van Brederode (17th century) (ff. 67-101 verso); and the lords of Teylingen, from Simon of Holland (11th century), to Vincent van Teylingen (16th century) (ff. 103-122). The manuscript is written in French (ff. 3 verso-58) and in Dutch with some French insertions (ff. 67-122).

Les Rois de France

A volume, [1690s], of heraldry and pedigrees of the kings of France and their queens, from the semi-legendary Pharamond to Louis XIV, including painted armorials, brief biographies and, when known, pedigrees for their queens.
It lists the Merovingian, Carolingian, Capetian, Valois, Orleans and Angoulême kings (pp. 1-122), followed by the Bourbon family from its medieval origins to king Louis XIV (pp. 127-209). This is followed by entries for French princes and cadet branches connected with the Bourbons (Condé, Montpensier and others) (pp. 212-349).

Les Rois de Hongrie &c.

A volume, [1690s], of biographies, painted armorials and pedigrees of various ruling families of mainland Europe.
They comprise the kings and queens of Hungary, from St Stephen (c. 975-1038) to Leopold I, archduke of Austria and Holy Roman Emperor (1640-1705), but recognising Charles Martel of Anjou as king instead of Andrew III (ff. 5-45); of Aragon, from Ramire I (c. 1000-1063) to king Charles II of Spain (1661-1700) (ff. 50-84); of Sicily and Naples from Roger II (1095-1054) to Mary I of Sicily (1362-1401) (ff. 86-96); of Naples from Charles of Anjou (1227-1285), son of Louis VIII of France, to René of Anjou (1409-1480) (ff. 99-114); of Navarre from Garcia [IV] of Navarre (1020-1054) to king Louis XIV of France and Navarre (1638-1715) (ff. 117-137); and of Portugal from Henri I of Burgundy (1066-1122), to Mary of Portugal (1526-1545), wife of king Phillip II of Spain (ff. 140-155).

Rois et ducs de Bourgogne

A volume, [1690s], containing biographies, painted armorials and pedigrees of kings and dukes of Burgundy.
It lists kings of Burgundy (historic or semi-legendary) from Gundion (d. 451) to Frederick II, Holy Roman Emperor (d. 1250), (pp. 1-53); the dukes of Burgundy from Beuves d'Ardennes (d. 877) to king Charles II of Spain (d. 1700) (pp. 61-183); and the counts of Burgundy from Othe Guillaume (d. 1027) to Jeanne II (d. 1330), wife of king Phillip V of France (pp. 185-211). Also contains transcripts and annotations in pencil in the hand of G. T. Clark, [19 cent., last ¼].
