'Excuse my dust'

Printed book : Richard Herbert Randolph SJ, 'Excuse my dust : a little life relived' (Oxford : no. 40 of a numbered edition privately printed by Hall the Printer Ltd for the author, Sept. 1999 ; card covers, 284 pp., [8] pp. b/w photos). The author's autobiography. Enclosed are three letters and two cards from 'Dick', 1999-2000.

Myfanwy Thomas letters

Original bundle of letters and cards from Myfanwy Thomas, usually from Eastbury, co. Berks., to Geoffrey Woolley, 29 Nov. 1968-12 Dec. 1995, including asking about the W. H. Hudson letters (C 1, above) (4 Oct. 1981), of which Myfanwy later typed copies (22 March 1983); also news of Cherry Watson (d. 27 Jan. 1986), widow of Rowland L. Watson ('Watty', d. 15 Nov. 1968). Includes at least two letters from Watty (12 and 19 April 1967), one card from Cherry Watson (20 June 1981), and papers of the Edward and Helen Thomas Memorial Fund and the Edward Thomas Centenary Memorial Fund.

Helen Thurber letters

Original bundle of letters and cards from Helen Thurber, usually from West Cornwall, Connecticut, USA, to Geoffrey Woolley, 15 Dec. 1962-25 Feb. 1982. Also a newspaper interview with James Thurber, 2 Feb. 1961.

Volume containing one line diary notes similar to monthly memoranda of incidents "to be remembered" (D 1/35), or notes out of appointments diaries. Gaps include March 1959-March 1960 and Jan. 1961-Nov. 1963.

Some of these letters may be carbon copies or drafts of letters in L 1/23, or letters that have lost their envelopes.

Letters from Robert Moore

Original bundle of letters from Robert Moore, 11 June 1951-1956. The writer only dates the letters, when dated at all, with the day of the week; the only dates are those on postmarks, or Woolley's note of receiving a letter. Also a letter from Woolley to Peter Storrs, that if he die Robert Moore is to have all his possessions 'here', and any credit at Riggs Bank.

Ephemera

Invitations, concert programmes and other ephemera, mainly Washington, 1951-1952. Orders of remembrance services for Keith Downing Woolley (1912-1983) and Pamela Phyllis Watson (1923-1999). Also a list of names entitled 'Travellers, Oct 11/2000', with some names ticked and others crossed out; probably a Christmas card list.
